A Year of Digital Transformation

2025 review and 2026 predictions

A Year of Digital Transformation

Some years move fast. 2025 moved like a system upgrade. Across industries, digital maintenance matured, field teams transformed, and the gap between paper-based operations and real operational clarity became impossible to ignore.

2025 was the year organisations finally decided that chaos was no longer a maintenance strategy. It was the year workflows became structured, field teams became mobile, and asset management became data-driven instead of guess-driven.

What did this year reveal?

2025 was a year of visible acceleration in how the world moves, operates, and secures its digital and physical systems. In field operations, the old reactive break-fix mindset finally gave way to predictive service models driven by AI, real-time IoT data, and mobile-first workflows.

Technicians aren’t just fixing machines anymore; they’re anticipating failures before they happen and resolving work orders with unprecedented speed and precision. Digital data capture, augmented reality guidance, and cloud-native platforms turned once-manual jobs into connected, analytics-rich operations that modern teams rely on every day.

AI cut a 160-hour industrial planning job to 10 minutes

A major naval program in 2025 showed how dramatically AI can reshape heavy industrial and field-level operations. Following these results, nearly $450 million has been allocated to scale the system across shipyards, repair yards, and hundreds of suppliers, aiming to modernise workflows, eliminate bottlenecks, increase capacity, and cut operational delays.

The initiative targets long-standing issues like outdated processes, workforce gaps, and overloaded facilities. Once fully deployed in complex submarine programs, the same AI capabilities will expand to other large-scale shipbuilding operations.

AI accelerated oil and gas production faster than expected

At this year’s major energy summit, industry leaders revealed that AI is now steering drill operations, predicting well issues in advance, and analysing complex formations to make previously difficult drilling sites viable.

Across the sector, AI is enabling teams to drill more wells per year, maintain equipment with fewer interruptions, and cut both time and cost, making field AI not just helpful, but a competitive necessity.

AI helped railway field work in every possible step

A recent rollout of an AI-based maintenance system in a major railway division showed how quickly the technology is transforming safety and inspection processes. The system detects issues that human teams often miss: hidden component failures, early fire risks, hot axles, brake problems, and even passenger-triggered alerts.

With sensor data, pattern recognition, and predictive analytics, teams can act before failures occur, turning reactive maintenance into proactive safety. Routine inspections that once took significant manual effort are now faster, more accurate, and less labour-intensive.

What we achieved in 2025

2025 pushed us to refine, sharpen and expand, and we delivered across the board. Paper workflows finally had their last chapter. With Lena’s all-in-one platform, organisations stepped into fully digital maintenance and field operations. No more spreadsheets, no more scattered data, just structured, integrated, reliable processes.

  • Asset management became intelligent. Maintenance history, warranties, repairs, and lifecycle data — everything landed in one place.
  • Field crews went fully mobile. Work orders, reports and forms handled instantly from any device.
  • Our technical backbone grew stronger: 2.8 million lines of code across 8+ products powering 20+ customers.
  • A global mindset took centre stage, and we attended Field Service Europe 2025.

Lena’s vision for 2026

  • More automation. Smarter preventive maintenance, deeper analytics, and workflows that adapt themselves.
  • A stronger, more unified product family. Enhanced modules, seamless user experience, and polished interfaces.
  • Global expansion. New markets, new partnerships, and greater visibility worldwide.
  • A growing community. More success stories, stronger customer partnerships, and product evolution guided by real needs.
  • Industry leadership. More content, more insight, and more practical guidance for digital transformation.
